Discover the very best of Tibet on this compact 10-day motorcycle adventure, starting and finishing in Lhasa.
After arriving in Tibet and completing the necessary riding documentation and motorcycle handover, set out across the Tibetan Plateau towards some of the region's most spectacular landscapes.
Ride beside the brilliant turquoise waters of Yamdrok Lake, travel through historic Shigatse and continue deep into the Himalayas towards Mount Everest.
Standing beneath the world's highest mountain is the defining moment of the journey, but the adventure does not end there. On the return ride, cross the vast Tibetan Plateau to Namtso Lake, where deep-blue water stretches beneath the snow-covered Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains.
The journey finishes back in Lhasa with a full day to discover the city's cultural and spiritual highlights, including the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Old Town.
For riders who want to experience Tibet's legendary roads, sacred lakes, Himalayan landscapes and unique culture without committing to a longer expedition, this itinerary brings together the essential highlights in one unforgettable ride.

1Arrival in Lhasa
Welcome to Tibet. Arrive at Lhasa Airport, where your airport transfer and hotel check-in will be arranged. No major activities are planned today, allowing time to rest after your flight and gradually acclimatise to Lhasa's altitude of approximately 3,650 metres.
2Lhasa – Riding Documentation & Motorcycle Handover
A full day is reserved for the required driving documentation, eligibility checks and motorcycle rental procedures. Complete the motorcycle inspection, organise your riding equipment and become familiar with your bike. A briefing on local traffic rules and the upcoming journey will also be provided.
3Lhasa → Yamdrok Lake → Shigatse
Your Tibetan motorcycle adventure begins. Leave Lhasa and climb into the mountains towards Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet's most beautiful sacred lakes. Enjoy spectacular views of its turquoise waters surrounded by high mountains before continuing past the Karo La Glacier and through the Gyantse region towards Shigatse.
4Shigatse → Lhatse → Tingri
Ride deeper into the Tibetan Plateau as the route gradually approaches the Himalayas. Pass through Lhatse and remote high-altitude landscapes of grassland, open valleys and distant snow-covered peaks. Arrive in Tingri in the afternoon and relax before tomorrow's journey towards Mount Everest.
5Tingri → Everest Base Camp → Tashi Dzom
One of the defining days of the entire journey. Ride towards the Himalayas and enjoy spectacular panoramic views from the Gawula Pass area, where several of the world's highest mountains can be seen on a clear day. Continue towards Everest Base Camp using the required scenic-area transport where applicable, and experience the unforgettable sight of Mount Everest before returning to Tashi Dzom for the night.
6Tashi Dzom → Shigatse
Say farewell to the Mount Everest region and begin the ride back across the Tibetan Plateau. The route passes through remote Himalayan landscapes, traditional Tibetan settlements and wide mountain valleys. Arrive back in Shigatse with time to rest and enjoy a relaxed evening.
7Shigatse → Namtso Lake → Damxung
Head north across the vast Tibetan highlands towards Namtso Lake, one of Tibet's three great sacred lakes. Surrounded by open grasslands and the snow-covered Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, Namtso is one of the most spectacular landscapes of the journey. After visiting the lake under the applicable local transport arrangements, continue to Damxung for the night.
8Damxung → Lhasa
Enjoy a relatively relaxed final riding day as you return to Lhasa. Pass through high-altitude grazing lands, broad valleys and mountain scenery before arriving in the Tibetan capital. Return the motorcycles and enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening at your own pace.
9Lhasa – Cultural Discovery Day
Spend a full day discovering the cultural and spiritual heart of Tibet. Subject to reservation arrangements, visit the iconic Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple before exploring the traditional streets of Barkhor Old Town. In the evening, gather for a farewell dinner and celebrate the completion of your Tibetan motorcycle adventure.
10Lhasa – Departure
After breakfast, enjoy some free time depending on your flight schedule before transferring to the airport. Your 10-day Tibet and Everest motorcycle adventure comes to an end, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Himalayan roads, sacred lakes, Mount Everest and Tibetan culture.

- Distances: All riding distances are approximate and may change depending on the final motorcycle-permitted route, weather, road works and local traffic regulations.
- Motorcycle Rental & Driving Requirements: All riders must meet the applicable legal requirements for riding a motorcycle in China. Required documentation and riding eligibility must be confirmed before the motorcycle journey begins.
- Tibet Travel Permits: Foreign travellers require the applicable Tibet travel arrangements and permits. Additional authorisations may be required for Mount Everest and other restricted areas.
- High-Altitude Travel: Much of this itinerary takes place at high altitude. Riders should allow adequate time for acclimatisation and be prepared for possible adjustments due to weather, road conditions or physical wellbeing.
- Scenic-Area Transport: Mount Everest Base Camp, Namtso Lake and certain other attractions may require mandatory local shuttle or scenic-area transportation.
- Route Flexibility: Weather and road conditions can change quickly on the Tibetan Plateau. For safety reasons, the tour leader may adjust the itinerary while preserving the main travel experience whenever possible.

How to Join Our Boutique Group Trips
1.We regularly update our schedule with the latest travel dates for each year. You can browse our available itineraries, select the one that suits you best, and get in touch with us to sign up. Once your booking is confirmed, simply make your own way to our designated meeting point—we’ll take care of everything else.
2.For your trip, you'll need to prepare your own equipment, such as cycling gear and a helmet, for safe driving.
How to Customize Your Own Itinerary
1.If you have your own group and require a custom travel itinerary, please contact us to arrange a tailored service.
2.We offer a range of options, including support vehicles, photographers, maintenance technicians, motorcycle ride leaders, and translator-guides.
3.If you have specific itinerary requirements for entering China by private vehicle, we can also provide customized arrangements.
How do I apply for a temporary Chinese driver's license?
1. We require an image of your home-country driver’s license in order to translate it and prepare the necessary documentation.
2. Currently, this service is available in Kunming, Chongqing, Guangzhou, and Urumqi.
3. Regarding vehicle pickup in Chengdu: due to recent policy adjustments, it is no longer possible to process temporary driver’s licenses there. You must obtain your temporary license elsewhere; therefore, we recommend securing it in advance before traveling to Chengdu to pick up your vehicle.
4.The process for obtaining a temporary driver's license typically takes about two hours to complete.
5.Service hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
